Two men have been charged following a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be pepper spray led to people being hurt at London's Heathrow Airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.

The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after getting out of a car park lift, according to law enforcement.

A young child was caught up in the incident in the event. A total of five individuals required hospital care and were eventually allowed to go home.

This event – described by police as was not part of a series and deemed non-terroristic – led to train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
