Dominant Aryna Sabalenka Secures Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Accolades.
The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive year.
The 27-year-old secured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – including retaining the US Open in September versus Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth career Grand Slam singles triumph.
A Season of High Performance
Throughout the year, Sabalenka reached a tour-best nine finals, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The star player also claimed victory at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the entire year as the top-ranked player, finishing 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.
This past summer, she achieved the status of being the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.
Historic Numbers
Sabalenka finished the season with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and picked up a record eleven million pounds in earnings.
She garnered nearly 80% of the votes cast by international tennis media.
On 28 December, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "help bring women's tennis to a greater prominence".
