Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople confirmed on late Wednesday. The athlete was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.
Healing from Light Wounds
The boxer had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.
Honoring the Deceased
The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
His release from the hospital follows the global fight fans had expressed its support for the fighter in the wake of the devastating accident.
