American-Palestinian Adolescent Liberated After Nine-Month Period in Israel's Detention

A Palestinian-American adolescent who spent 270 days in Israeli detention without charge has been freed.
Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old when he was arrested this past winter within the occupied West Bank, during a family visit on holiday from Florida under suspicion of rock throwing against settlement residents, which he previously denied.
United States authorities said it welcomed the news of Mohammed's release.
Currently aged sixteen, needed medical care right after being freed, relatives told the media.
According to them, he appears visibly pale and thin, while battling health issues developed during imprisonment.
In a statement, Mohammed's uncle spoke of the family's "overwhelming sense of relief".
Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" during the entire detention period.
"At this moment, we are focused on getting Mohammed the immediate medical attention he requires following exposure to Israel's abuse and brutal treatment throughout his detention."
The state department announced ongoing to offer diplomatic assistance for the Ibrahim family.
{"American leadership has no higher priority to the protection and welfare of American nationals"," it added.
Several congressional representatives submitted a formal letter to US authorities and the administration, urging greater action for his freedom.
The father, parent of four children operating an ice cream shop in Florida, previously claimed his son only confessed regarding stone throwing because the soldiers beat him.
There were no visits or communicated with his son following the detention, learning information solely regarding the treatment in detention through court documents.
Mohammed was held lacking indictment within Ofer penitentiary in the West Bank.
It is also home to adult prisoners, including individuals found guilty for major terrorist activities and murder.
An estimated several hundred young Palestinian detainees being held in Israeli jails, according to the Israeli Prison Service.
Several lack formal charges along with monitoring agencies, and international organizations, report instances of physical abuse and torture.
Subsequent to his liberation, family representatives announced relatives would persist in advocating seeking justice for their relative family member Sayfollah.
The 20-year-old dual US citizen who the Palestinian health ministry said succumbed to assault by radical settlers during a confrontation during summer.
During that period, military authorities reported they were examining information regarding a civilian had died.
Both young men collaborated in the family ice cream shop based in Florida.
No one has been charged for the cousin's murder.
"We demand the American government to ensure our family's safety," the uncle stated.
